Josh,

Does this constitute authority to proceed with the conceptual design based on the
Melendrez presentation? I don't think we want to wait until the 25th as that will set us
way behind, schedule-wise.

Dan

Subject: South Park Walkability Project Update

Hi Team,

We just wanted to give everyone an update on the feedback we received on the South Park
Walkability Project conceptual design at our SOBO committee meeting this morning. Overall,
people seemed to like the design elements. Comments and questions that came up were:

* What exactly is meant by fully enhanced sidewalk?

* Pedestrian lighting on 12th street is important, it becomes very dark between
Flower and Grand. (Jessica: The BID is aware - this may be addressed in a different
project)

* What about having buildings on Flower facing the Metro station have ads or art on
the facades? (Jessica: Outreach to these owners is part of process - art is more likely)

* Is there anything that can be done about the left turn from Pico (westbound) onto
Flower (southbound) - weird intersection, it feels unsafe? (Jessica: can't do anything
with this project because it is in the street, but will bring up with Metro)

RE: South Park Walkability Project Update

The committee recommended approval of the preliminary design. The project will be
formally voted on at the South Park BID Board of Directors meeting at 8:30 am on February
25th.

Thanks!
